Tell me something happy in your life.

I believe PMA’s are contagious.  What’s a PMA you ask?  It’s a positive mental attitude.   I think somewhere in middle school I learned about a PMA in health class or something, and it just really stuck with me.  The outcome of your day (and your life for that matter) is directly impacted by your outlook and attitude.  I am definitely guilty of sweating the small stuff in life, and it’s something that drives me CRAZY about myself.  Whenever I’m feeling down, I often ask my friends/coworkers to tell me something happy in their life at that moment, and they often do the same when one of them is experiencing a particularly rough day.  Focusing your attention on the GOOD makes dealing with the bad a whole heck of a lot easier.

Recently, my local radio station started doing a “Tell-me-something-good-Tuesday” where listeners call in and say what’s good in their life.  I LOVE this concept.  So often we all dwell on the bad, the unhappy, and what’s going wrong.  Well today isn’t Tuesday, but I’d still love to hear something happy in your life at this moment.

Breakfast #1

When I woke up this morning I was STARVING.  I think it was because I skipped my late night snack last night.  Usually, I wait to eat my first breakfast until I am at my desk at work, but today I couldn’t even finish getting ready without downing a small bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats with some Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk (one of my favorite combos).  So instead of eating the eggs I had planned on having for breakfast, I decided to go with something a little smaller…

The grilled fruit & nut butter wrap makes a comeback!  I haven’t had one of these in forever.  I pulled a Mama Lupe Low carb tortilla out of the freezer, smeared a tablespoon of Smucker’s Organic Peanut Butter on top, and then added a couple sliced up strawberries:

I rolled the wrap up burrito-style, and grilled on the Foreman for about 5 minutes.

Then I wrapped the little guy up in foil, and tossed him in my purse.  I had a meeting first thing this morning, but an hour after I grilled the wrap it was still nice and warm:

YUM!

Breakfast #2

Today I had a NEW (to me) Chobani flavor!!  Pomengranate chobani!!! Yum!  I topped the yogurt with some fresh blueberries and some granola I got at the Healthy Living Summit:

The granola is from Mix My Granola – and this is a pretty cool concept.  You can log onto their website and make up your own granola concoctions with pretty much ANYTHING you want in it from chia seeds to organic gummy bears 🙂

I believe this bag had the organic cereal and raisins in it, and it was YUM.

Lunch

Today’s lunch was leftover’s from last night’s Mexican Meatloaf and Monday’s cucumber salad:

Now I need a siesta…

  1. I agree with you on PMA. Attitude is everything, and for the most part, I’m content with my life. There are things to be changed, but they are not any that cause me straight out misery. 😉

So on to the happy in my life – I’m healthy. My family is for the most part healthy and so are my friends.

And I might soon be able to stop saying “I can’t cook” because there are some things I’ve been able to prepare successfully. 🙂

  2. I have so many great things happening for me right now. I have wonderful parents (who I am going to visit NEXT week!) and some great friends who all seem to be celebrating big events in their lives.

Oh! And I also successfully grilled all by myself the other night. WOOT!

  3. i totally agree with you….happiness is catchy!
i, like you, sweat the small things. learning to be happy and content with the ‘now’ is sometimes a bit of a challenge for me….caitlyn over at thetwentyfifthyear had an amazing post about this a few days ago.

i am happy at this very second that i am NOT busting my hump at work and i am on vacation, even if it entails sitting in the driveway or attending soccer games!!!

after receiving horrible news about my sister a couple weeks ago, i am extremely happy to be healthy as well. we take so much for granted!!!

enjoy your day! may you be blessed with lots and lots of PMA’s…. xo

  4. Hey Mary!

So I can say that I’m happy about my step sisters upcoming wedding this Saturday. My future sister in law just got married last Saturday and my sister is getting married in October. My wedding is in Feb! Lots to be thankful for and grateful for!

Oh and I had your overnight oats this morning with a banana and some vanilla chobani which made for an amazing breakfast! Thanks!

  5. Happiness is totally about your attitude more than anything else. This is why I’m always looking on the bright side of things. It beats being miserable all the time!

My happy right now is that in the past two days I’ve gotten to talk to a good friend of mine who’s in Iraq. I haven’t gotten to talk to him much recently, and talking to him always puts me in a ridiculously good mood.

  6. Something happy in my life is that my second attempt at overnight was YUMMY, and I survived my dentist appointment AND don’t have any cavities. So, you had a not-so-great weekend?
